سامي حنا إبراهيم، مدير أعمال متقاعد من بوسطن، ماساتشوستس، في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية. خدم سامي في الجيش المصري قبل الهجرة إلى أمريكا كمجند ثم ضابط احتياط برتبة ملازم أول، واشترك في حرب ٦ أكتوبر 1973، التي عرفت أيضا بحرب يوم كيبور. ولد سامي في مصر، ونشأ في منزل مسيحي علمَّه حب الله، والأسرة والبلد.

من هذه البيئة، تم تجنيد الشاب المهندس بعد تخرجه من الجامعة في عام ١٩٦٨ ، وخدمفي سلاح المهندسين، في كتيبة ناقلات برمائية تابعة لأحد لواءات الكباري (الجسور) التي دعمت الجيش المصري في خلال اقتحام وعبور قناة السويس في حرب ٦ أكتوبر 1973. نتيجة لعمله هو وأعضاء فصيلة الناقلات البرمائية في مساعدة جنود وحدة

المهندسين العسكريين المعينة لضخ المياه، فُتِحت الثغرة في الساتر الترابي الإسرائيلي في الشاطئ الغربي لقناة السويس أمام معبر رقم 33 الذي كان قائدًا له، ونقلوا عدة كتائب من مشاة الجيش المصري بأسلحتهم ومدفعيتهم وعرباتهم عبر قناة السويس وإلى داخل سيناء في الساعات الأولى وخلال مدة الحرب. نتيجة لهذا العمل العظيم

للجيش المصري تم تدمير خط بارليف الذي أقامته إسرائيل على الشواطئ الشرقية لقناة السويس منذ يونيو ١٩٦٧ . ثم في السنوات اللاحقة لحرب أكتوبر، ونتيجة لمعاهدة السلام، تم تحرير شبه جزيرة سيناء من الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، وعادت إلى السيادة الكاملة لمصر.

Samy Ibrahim, a retired business executive based in Boston, Massachusetts, served in the Egyptian Army during the Crossing War on October 6, 1973.  After being drafted in 1968, the young patriot joined the Corps of Engineers.  He first served as a sergeant in an amphibious carrier battalion belonging to one of the Bridges Brigades that supported the Egyptian Army.  He was then promoted to first lieutenant and led an amphibious carrier platoon to help defeat and destroy the Israeli-held Bar-Lev Line on the eastern shores of the Suez Canal. As a result, in subsequent years, the Sinai Peninsula was liberated and returned to the full sovereignty of Egypt.  Born in Egypt, Samy immigrated to the United States of America in 1974 with his wife, Hana (Tarazi) Ibrahim, to the Greater Boston area, where they now live near their three children— Susan, Bassim, and Monica—and seven grandchildren.



Raised as a Baptist minister’s son, Samy is a member of a local Baptist Church in the Greater Boston Area and participates in many of its ministries. Samy, a licensed registered professional engineer in Massachusetts, holds a graduate degree in management and administration from Harvard University. He also holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University and an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt.
